Fox Lake Cree Nation - Land Use Study

In 2016, Scatliff + Miller + Murray was part of a team retained by Fox Lake Cree Nation (FLCN) to undertake a comprehensive land use study.  As part of Fox Lake’s broader Treaty Land Entitlement process, the study focused on assessing FLCN’s immediate and long-range needs, considering both traditional territory and future urban development.  Our team worked closely with Chief and Council to align planning strategies with the community’s social, cultural, and economic values.

The study identified strategic opportunities to support economic growth, promote community development, protect traditional land uses, and conserve ecologically sensitive lands, with the overarching objective of ensuring a sustainable and self-sufficient future for all FLCN members.
