Cross Lake Band - Health Complex

A substantial investment in new health care facilities will enable the residents of Cross Lake to receive treatment at home, in their community, with family close by. This fundamental shift will help to improve and strengthen the level of care and the social network of the community. The project will entail a complex of buildings and landscape development providing a range of services for physical and mental health care. SMM is responsible for providing overall site development and landscape architectural design work of the Health Complex and new single family and mid-density residences. SMM is working closely with the Band to develop the site's functional, cultural, and interpretive program. Ensuring the project's legacy reaches beyond the facility itself, educational and work experience opportunities (related to the building and construction) are considered a key component of the project and our design rational.
