This concept design is inspired by the rhythm of the Red River, the revitalization of the historic Alexander Docks, transforming a once-inaccessible waterfront into a vibrant, inclusive riverfront park.
The site is along an active transportation network forming part of the North Winnipeg Parkway extending from The Forks to Kildonan Park.
The revitalization will create a place rooted in remembrance and healing, provide equitable year-round access to the waterfront, adapt to the dynamics of the river, improve biodiversity, improve connectivity and strengthen natural and social connections along the river and community.
This is more than a park. This is a place to remember. A place to gather. A place to dream.
