468 Nation, Fort McMurray

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team SMM worked on an economic sustainability plan with the 468 Nation in Fort McMurray, Alberta.  Working with the community, projects were prioritized to foster long term economic benefit to the community and to balance financial investment against benefit for the community.  Benefits included community health and wellness, job creation, strategic partnerships and long term viability to benefit future generations.  Primary projects included housing quality improvements, Community Health Centre, Youth Campus and Safe House, Elders facility, fuel station, solar park, agri-business and a contemporary RV park with lake front access and marina.
